Architecture TechnologyWelcome to CADD - Computer Aided Design & Drafting @ GWC

Drafters prepare technical drawings and plans used by production and construction worker to build everything from manufactured products, such as spacecraft or industrial machinery to structures, such as office buildings, or oil and gas pipelines. Their drawings provide visual guidelines, showing the technical details of the products and structures, specifying dimensions, materials to be used, and procedures and processes to be followed.

Most drafters use computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems to prepare drawings. Drafting has many specialties, and titles may denote a particular discipline of drafting, such as aeronautical, architectural, civil, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pipeline drafters.

The Drafting program at Golden West College is designed to prepare the student with the necessary skills and knowledge for employment as an entry-level drafter in the mechanical drafting field.
