Mailboxes

Employee mailboxes are located in the Mailroom.  Mailboxes are for campus and District business only, no outside advertisement is allowed. Please check your mailbox regularly for class rosters, student drop notices, memos, and other business or informational items from various departments, administrators, and the District Office.

Mail

USPS, CCC, OCC, and District mail normally arrives between 9:30 and 10 am. Outgoing intra-district mail is also picked up at this time. In the afternoon, around 1:45 pm, mail is delivered from OCC, DIS, and District Offices. Outgoing USPS, OCC, CCC, District, and DIS mail is picked up.  USPS mail is then delivered to the Huntington Beach Post Office. If you have an important item that must go out that day, please drop it off in the Mailroom by noon.  Please bring certified or overnight mail to the office by 11 am.

Packages

Our mailroom staff will send you an e-mail when a package has arrived for you.  Due to limited space you are requested to pick up your package within seven (7) days.  Please be prepared to show staff and picture ID for the receipt of your package.

Copy Request Drop Box

The Copy Room is closed Friday evening, Saturdays and Sundays.  If you have material to be copied, you can leave it in the Mailroom.  On the west wall of the Mailroom, there are two plastic bins attached to the wall.  One contains copy request forms, and the other is the drop-off bin for completed forms with originals attached.  At your own discretion, you may also leave tests in this bin, however it is not advised as this area can be accessed by students.  Support staff will pick up these materials and have them reproduced; however, you will need to pick up the completed work order copies from the Copy Room during the week.  If it’s not possible for you to come to campus during the week to pick up this material, the Graphics staff will deliver your finished jobs to your mailbox if you indicate in large print on the copy form “SATURDAY OR SUNDAY ONLY CLASS.”

Announcements

The GWC Bulletin page is your best source for a listing of the latest announcements and workshops.  There are regular bulletin boards on the Mailroom walls/doors which contain information from the State, CCCD Board of Trustees, Academic Senate, Staff Development, CFCE AFT Local 4794 (Classified Union),  CFE AFT Local 1911 (Faculty Union),  CCA/CTA (Part-time Faculty Union), and others. Job announcements can be found in the mailbox area.

Bulk Mail

If you have a mailing that you would like us to send bulk mail, it must consist of 200 or more of the same exact item (contents must also be exactly the same); please make sure they are in zip code order and have the bulk mail insignia printed on the postcard or envelope.  Pre-printed bulk mail envelopes are available for purchase from the GWC Bookstore.

Mailhouses

Departments utilizing outside mailhouses should contact Pam Andrews x55082 in advance and provide her with:

  • Date of mailing
  • Name of Mailhouse
  • Description of item being mailed
  • Number of pieces
  • Estimated postage cost (if known)

Verifying Databases

Do you send mass mailings and maintain your own database of the addresses?  If so, OCC’s Mailroom has volunteered to ‘clean-up’ your list by checking your database against their post office software.  It will detect errors in the address and correct them for you.  This will help to save postage costs.  They have asked for a 24-48 turnaround time and request your list be e-mailed to them at:  mailroom@occ.cccd.edu
