Georgina Dodge
Georgina Dodge is honored for her success in higher education. She was recently named the new director of the African-American and African Studies Community Extension Center for Ohio State University. Since 1996 she has been an assistant professor in the Department of English at Ohio State University. And since 1998 she has held associated faculty positions in the Department of African-American and African Studies and the Division of Comparative Studies in Humanities. Throughout her academic career, she has served as a presenter, workshop facilitator, keynote speaker, and chair for various conferences relating to race, women of color, and family in the world.
Before joining Ohio State University, Georgina held several teaching positions at California State University, Los Angeles, and Golden West College. She earned an associate’s degree with honors from Golden West College, a bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) in English from the University of California, Irvine, and both master’s and doctorate degrees in English from University of California, Los Angeles. editorial journalism from the University of Washington.
