The Management Department offers courses transfer students as well as working students seeking additional professional skills. The course offerings range from the general management to specialized areas such as human resources, organizational behavior, and entrepreneurial studies. Currently, the Department offers the following degree or certificate programs:

Management Major

Retail Management Major

Certificate of Achievement in Management

Certificate of Achievement in Human Resources

Certificate of Achievement in Entrepreneurship  and Small Business Management

Certificate of Achievement in Retail Management

Courses Taken at Other College and Universities

Students who wish to substitute courses taken at other colleges and universities for required courses toward a major or certificate at Golden West College must submit a Petition for Course Substitution to the Department Chair for evaluation. Proper documentation for the course(s) that students want to substitute must accompany the petition and can be in the form of a course syllabus, course catalog description, and/or schedule description under the applicable year or term that the course was taken. The Department Chair will make a determination based on the documentation submitted and return a decision to the student.

Awarding of Multiple Majors and Certificates

Students who wish to attain multiple majors and certificates in similar areas of study may doso as long as they take 12 units unique to the additional program(s) and meet all other conditions set forth by the College to confer a degree.
