Nursing and Health Services Building

With a construction budget of $12,000,000, construction is complete on the approximately 26,000 square foot building. The college is currently working on punch list items and landscaping. The third floor houses six flexible classrooms that can be reduced or expanded based on instructional need. The second floor houses the skills lab, a computer lab, and a human patient simulation lab. The first floor houses the Nursing faculty offices and the Student Health Center.

Learning Resource Center

Construction has just begun for the approximately 55,000 square foot building with a budget of $24,000,000. The project is currently on time, on budget, and construction should be completed in June 2010. The new LRC located at the main Golden West Street entrance will house the Library, New Media/Online Instruction, Student Success Center, a high tech lab for the disabled, Writing Center, Staff Development, and Academic Senate.

Central Plant/HVAC Upgrades

The campus Central Plant is complete. The underground trenching was finished ahead of schedule. The campus is now working on completing Group 4 of 6 by renovating buildings to connect them to our new Central Plant. Modular classrooms have been used to better serve our students during this major undertaking. As the piping to the central plant is completed, classroom improvements are being made as well. The project budget is $33,000,000, and it’s currently on time and on budget with completion in June, 2009.

Main Distribution Facility

A Main Distribution Facility is being created on the east side of the existing Library. This will house all of the campus servers and will provide temperature control and a backup generator to ensure our computer information is secure and backed up properly. This project should be complete by the end of this calendar year. The project budget is approximately $700,000 and is on time and on budget.
