Applicaiton for LVN to RN Career Ladder - Nursing 190 Class
Application Dates: August 15, 2008 to March 31, 2009

Welcome to the Golden West College School of Nursing web site! We appreciate your interest in our nursing program. We are committed to preparing students who will provide caring, competent health care in our diverse community and will be successful in the nursing profession. We invite you to visit the links on this page to learn more about our nursing program.

The department of nursing was established in 1966 and has grown and matured along with the college. Many changes have occurred over the years, but the program maintains high standards for nursing practice and enjoys an excellent reputation in our community. Our graduates are in high demand for employment in a variety of settings.

Currently, the Nursing program includes the Basic Associate Nursing degree program and the Career ladder LVN – RN program. Enrollment in our programs is about 250 students during any given term. This number has increased recently, due to the addition of a weekend program for our generic nursing students. This program was made possible by grant funding and the support of many community sponsors.

We are very proud to have an active California Nursing Student Association (CNSA) whose members contribute to the program and the community in which we live.

The Nursing Program at Golden West College is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, NLNAC 61 Broadway, New York, NY, 10006, (212) 363-5555.

The information in this web site is designed to assist you in learning about our program, providing answers to FAQ and outlining the steps of the application process. The faculty and staff of Golden West College Nursing program hope this information will be beneficial to you as you embark on your nursing career.

We look forward to hearing from you and answering those questions you may have related to your preparation for a career in nursing.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Hils-Williams MN, RN, CNS
Director of Nursing
