Goals

2005-2006 Goals

GWC International Education Opportunities goals have been developed to align with our Pathways document, College Master Plan, Technology Master Plan, and Facilities Master Plan.

1. The GWC International Education Opportunities will actively pursue full-time faculty replacement needs and recommend hiring new faculty for essential programs.

2. The GWC International Education Opportunities will work toward clarifying and standardizing its own policies and procedures. All policies and procedures adopted by the GWC International Education Opportunities will be in writing and added to the 2005-06 Senate Handbook and other college-wide documents.

3. The GWC International Education Opportunities will improve the process we have for recognizing teaching excellence by nominating faculty members for various teaching awards in a timely and judicious manner. It will also profile faculty members who have made a substantial difference in improving student learning.

4. The GWC International Education Opportunities will work with and support the campus Accreditation team as we prepare for writing our Self-Study. This includes continued coordination with faculty on development and implementation of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s).

5. The GWC International Education Opportunities will consider a Program and Curriculum Review Lifecycle process to assist in streamlining program development and review and to aid the senate in ranking faculty positions.

6. The GWC International Education Opportunities will collaborate with its sister Senates to develop a process to ensure district policies have full Senate consideration and all policies related to faculty emanate from the Senate bodies.

7. The GWC International Education Opportunities will improve communication concerning academic and professional matters with the faculty-at-large.

8. The GWC International Education Opportunities will take an active role in the campus-wide effort to examine retention and expand college outreach.
