Welcome to the Student Health Center at Golden West College
The mission of Student Health Services is to provide primary health care and education to students in support of their well-being so they may attain their educational goals, and to serve as a health and medical resource for the campus community. The Health Center will provide medical and mental health services for acute, episodic needs to students who are enrolled and attending classes. In promoting wellness, both physical and emotional, students are encouraged to choose positive life-styles. These activities contribute to student retention and success.
A registered nurse is available to provide emergency treatment, health counseling, and referrals to appropriate services. A physician and mental health therapist are available by appointment.

Flu Shot Availability
Our entire supply of flu shots (all 120 doses) was administered to students at a discounted price of $10 and we are unable to obtain additional doses from vaccine manufacturers. Flu shots are still available in the community (typical price is $24.95). Google “flu shot Orange County CA” to locate providers.
Seasonal flu shots for employees will be available on 10-27-09 from 12 to 4 PM in the Student Health Center. The employee flu shots were arranged for separately by the District Employee Wellness Committee and will be offered at a discounted price of $10.
The H1N1 flu shot is projected to be available late October, early November on a limited basis for those in high risk groups. Availability of H1N1 vaccine will expand when more doses are produced. GWC may or may not be a distribution site for H1N1 flu shot. Monitor this site for updates about availability.
